BTIM appoints head of responsible investment
Edwina Matthew is back at BT Investment Management as the head of responsible investment. Matthew re-joins BTIM from Goldman Sachs in New York. 

ANZ appoints a new director
Jane Halton has joined ANZ as a director. Halton has vast experience in the finance, insurance, risk management, human resources, health and ageing and public policy, on both a local and international stage. 

Cbus hires three new investment specialists
Cbus has appointed Linda Cunningham from IFM Investors as the debt manager. Anna Weickart is a new senior investment analyst, most recently at Willis Towers Watson in both Germany and Australia. Alex Miller is Cbus's new infrastructure transaction specialist, moving from KPMG. 

AMP Capital appoints new director
Peter Varghese was appointed to the AMP board in October, but has now been appointed to the board of AMP's investment management subsidiary. Varghese's most recent role was as the Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 

Tasplan hires new CIO
Ian Lundy is the new chief investment officer at Tasplan as the merger between Tasplan and RBF's accumulation scheme goes ahead. As the plans merge, Lundy will be the CIO of both Tasplan and RBF's scheme, moving to Tasplan ultimately. 

Fidelity appoints Australian MD
Fidelity International has appointed Alva DeVoy as the managing director of Australia, in addition to her role as investment director.

BT Financial Group makes 10 redundant, new head of equities
At least 10 investment professionals have been made redundant at BT Financial Group, while James McSkimming has become the new head of equities. Those made redundant include: 

  • Mark Vrkic, portfolio manager of global equities
  • Nick Valcas, senior analyst of portfolio research
  • Ron Mehmet, head of sector portfolio management
  • Dimitra Voutas, portfolio manager of property and real assets
  • Sidney Chong, head of portfolio analytics
  • Tim Rocks, head of research and strategy
  • David Jennings, senior market strategist

SelectingSuper Award finalists announced
The 2016 Rainmaker SelectingSuper Award finalists have been announced. BUSSQ and UniSuper featured heavily in nominations, while ANZ and Intrust Super were nominated over five categories. 

Securitor awards
Securitor has announced its adviser of the year, Heidi Schwegler. David Simon is the National Rising Star of the Year, while Crosbie Wealth Management was named National Practice of the Year.
