BlackRock appoints financial institutions head
Kimberly Kim has been appointed as head of financial institutions group at BlackRock, a newly-created position. Kim was previously head of global clients group for Hong Kong, and regional head of insurance coverage for APAC ex-Japan. Kim will begin her new position in April.
Westpac appoints board member
Peter Nash has been appointed as an independent non-executive director and a member of the audit, and risk and compliance, committees, effective 7 March. Nash is currently on the boards of Reconciliation Australia, Migration Council Australia, Golf Victoria, Johns Lyng Group, and Koorie Heritage Trust.
Koda Capital appoints new executives as partners
Frank Macindoe, a former JBWere executive director, and James Hawthorne, a former JBWere adviser, have joined Koda Capital’s Sydney office as partners. Brendan Jones, former JBWere senior wealth adviser, has joined Koda Capital’s Melbourne office as a partner.
Sales lead appointed at Perennial
Dan Birch has been appointed head of institutional sales by Perennial Value Management and Daintree Capital. Birch was previously at trading platform OTCX as managing director of Asia Pacific business.
New chair appointed by FSC
Anne Brown has been appointed by the Financial Services Council (FSC) as a risk and compliance specialist, to head the committee responsible for ensuring its members comply with its Life Insurance Code of Practice. Brown is currently a member of ASIC’s Markets Disciplinary Panel and a non-executive director of the Clean Energy Regulator.
Fidante appoints new head
John O’Keefe has been appointed as head of boutique strategy and business management at Fidante. O’Keefe was previously Future Fund’s debt and alternatives manager.
Zurich appoints new head
Matthew Drennan has been appointed as group head of savings and investments at Zurich, a newly-created role. Drennan was previously group head of research and portfolio construction at IOOF.

Rob Prugue has announced his intention to retire from his position of chief executive of Lazard Asset Management Australia, as of 28 February.
