AFCA welcomes new chair
Helen Coonan has been appointed by the Federal Government to chair the newly-legislated Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). Coonan currently serves on several private and public organisations boards including Snowy Hydro, Aon Australia, Sydney Opera House, J.P Morgan, Obesity Australia, and Place Management NSW.

Brookvine appoints product director
Mark Leslie has been appointed as product director at Brookvine. Leslie previously has held a range of roles at AMP Capital.

ClearView appoints head
Kathryn Williamson has been appointed as head of distribution strategy at ClearView. Williamson was previously state manager for New South Wales and the ACT at ClearView.

MLC Life appoints executive
Sarv Girn has been appointed as chief of innovation and transformation officer at MLC Life, a newly-created role. Girn previously served as group general manager at Westpac.

Commonwealth Bank board appointments and departures
Anne Templeman-Jones has been appointed as an independent non-executive director at the Commonwealth Bank (CBA). Templeman-Jones is currently serving on the boards of GUD Holdings Limited, WorleyParsons Limited, Citadel Group Limited, and HT&E Limited. Andrew Mohl will retire from his position as director on the board after 10 years, as will Brian Long after eight years.

FPA director steps down
Mark Rantall will step down from his position as a director on the Financial Planning Association's board. Rantall has served as director for two years and was previously chief executive from July 2010 to February 2016.
