New appointments at AMP
Andrea Slattery, former head of the SMSF Association, is the latest addition to the AMP Limited board as a non-executive director. Megan Beer is the new chief executive of AMP Life, while Alex Wade is to lead an expanded Australian wealth management portfolio. Blair Vernon is to head New Zealand’s advice and wealth business during the transition to Beer.

Swiss Re and Partners Life welcome new director
Jim Minto has been appointed to the Swiss Re Life & Health Australia Ltd board of directors, and the Advisory Board of Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd Australia Branch. Minto currently serves on TAL’s parent company, Dai-ichi Life Asia Pacific and is chair of New Zealand insurance company, Partners Life.

Departures

NAB CEO and chair leave bank
Andrew Thorburn, NAB’s chief executive, and Ken Henry, chair, have both announced their resignations from the bank. Henry will retire from the board when a replacement CEO is found, while Philip Chronican, a non-executive director, will act in the CEO position. Both Thorburn and Henry were criticised by Commissioner Kenneth Hayne during the Royal Commission.
