First Super replaces long-standing board member
Robyn Burns is replacing long-standing director, Allan Stewart, who is retiring. Stewart was on the Timber Industry Superannuation Scheme board from 1992, and transferred to the First Super board when three funds merged to create First Super.

AFCA recruiting
The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) is recruiting for newly-created senior roles, including a deputy chief ombudsman and general counsel.

Energy Super appoints first CIO
Kevin Wan Lum is Energy Super’s first chief investment officer (CIO). Bill Graus, the former general manager of investments looked after the investments previously, however he has left the fund. Lum was previously the acting chief investment officer, head of real assets and alternatives, and a senior portfolio manager at VicSuper.

Spaceship recruiting new CEO
Co-founder Paul Bennetts, the current chief executive officer (CEO) at Spaceship, is moving into the chief product officer role, leaving the lead position at the fund open for a new recruit. Andrew Moore, current chair of the board is serving as CEO in the interim. Spaceship is a recent entrant into the superannuation industry, opening in 2017.

TelstraSuper welcomes new chief risk officer (CRO)
Sabine Taylor is the new CRO at TelstraSuper after her initial role as interim chief risk officer went permanent. Taylor was previously head of wrap operations at Colonial First State.

Mercer appoints head of investment strategy
Gwion Moore is the new lead of the investment team at Mercer, in a newly-created position as head of investment strategy. Moore moves to Mercer from Suncorp.

Departures

Sunsuper loses its CEO, recruiting
Scott Hartley is leaving Sunsuper, saying ‘it’s time’ after five years. Hartley doesn’t have any specific plans just yet, and will stay until a replacement is found.
