Bad Ideas Report lists investments to consider avoiding
/A new report has been released by ARK Invest’s research team on industries they believe investors should steer clear of. The new report lists the likes of physical bank branches as an example of an investment to avoid because the researchers say consumer banking is going digital. Brick and mortar retail are also out, says the report, with e-commerce the way of the future, especially in a post-COVID landscape.
Also in the firing line is linear TV - that is, real-time traditional television programming - which has been upended by streaming services like Netflix. A lack of sports during the pandemic lockdowns hastened these movements.
Freight by rail also made the cut, with autonomous electric trucks apparently the way of the future, with traditional transport - cars, buses, planes - could also go the way of the dodo.
