New Appointments

Future Fund welcomes CIO and other new appointments

Sue Brake is the new chief investment officer at Future Fund, after acting in the role since July when Raphael Arndt moved into the chief executive role. Genevieve Murray is the new head of listed equities, moving from AMP Capital as head of Australian equities. Doug Cain is the new head of unlisted property, moving from PSP Investments in Canada. Kelvin Mak has joined the private equity team, moving from Navis Capital Partners.

AMP Capital appoints deputy chief executive

David Atkin is joining AMP Capital as the deputy chief executive, moving across from Cbus industry super fund. Atkin will be taking over operational leadership of AMP Capital in an interim capacity until mid-2021 as the hunt for a permanent CEO is underway.

BNY Mellon nominates country head

Paul Bolinowsky is the new country head of Australia for BNY Mellon Investment Management, replacing outgoing head Phil Filippelis. Bolinowsky was previously the chief executive boutique asset manager, Glennon Capital.

JP Morgan welcomes new chief Asia Pacific equity strategist

Jason Steed is the new chief Asia Pacific equity strategist. Steed has been with JP Morgan for over 10 years, with his last role as head of the Australian equity team and lead equity strategist for Australia. Steed will continue to lead the Australian team, while also taking up the new role.

Telstra Super welcomes new head of equities

Dominique D’avrincourt is the new head of equities at Telstra Super, in a move from HESTA as an investment manager.

Cbus welcomes first IT chief

Mirella Robinson is the first-ever chief information technology officer at Cbus industry super, moving from Latitude Financial Services.

Departures

AMP Capital’s Asia Pacific MD departs

Craig Keary has left AMP Capital after the managing director role was no longer required. The firm is trying out a new strategy to strengthen its private markets business and scaling and aligning public markets. Keary has been with AMP Capital for almost nine years, in several senior roles.

Challenger loses life CEO to new position

Chris Plater is leaving Challenger’s life business after four years, moving into a role in the group leadership team in the newly-created role of chief executive of operations and technology. Anton Kapel will act in the life business CEO role until a permanent replacement is found.
