Nine industry funds update to working group for longevity risk products

A working group was put together in late 2019 includes nine industry superannuation funds working with Frontier Advisors to look into longevity risk products for retiree members. The first findings are expected shortly. The goal is to create something that super funds all support, rather than the product being designed from outside providers.

The main goal of the working group’s final products is stable income via an account-based pension, with a longevity element.

Australian Unity launches green bond fund

An institutional-grade unlisted unit trust has been launched by Australian Unity, being managed by the cash and fixed-interest team Altius. Altius is Australian Unity’s specialist fixed income manager with two sustainable funds already in existence. The cornerstone investors in the new fund are the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), the Australian Government entity that manages about $10 million in clean energy projects, Crestone, and the Altius sustainable bond fund that will hold green bond assets via the fund.
