AIA Australia welcomes behavioural economics head
Alison Mclean is now part of the AIA Australia strategy team as head of behavioural economics and design, moving across from Swiss Re. Mclean will be applying behavioural science, data and design to products and services while collaborating with academics to foster behavioural science at the insurer.
Charter Hall appoints office CEO
Carmel Hourigan is the new office chief executive at Charter Hall, replacing Adrian Taylor. Taylor left to pursue other opportunities. Hourigan was with AMP Capital for just under five years as part of the global leadership team.
AMP Capital sees huge executive shuffle, exits
After a restructure, AMP Capital has lost its head of real estate, Carmel Hourigan, chief operating officer and chief financial officer Adrian Williams, head of people and culture Madeleine MacMahon, and head of infrastructure debt in the US Andrew Jones. Hourigan has not been replaced, while the others have been replaced internally.
Aideen O’Donovan will move from head of finance to chief financial officer, Simon Joiner is in the chief operating officer role, moving from the same role in the North West region, with Williams acting as global transition manager until the end of 2020. Patrick Trears was leading the US division of the infrastructure debt division, but will now take over as head of infrastructure debt. Lisa Hurley and Lauren Crystal replace MacMahon, moving into the role from other senior roles in the same department to share the role.
Earlier in July, head of listed infrastructure Boe Pahari replaced Adam Tindall as AMP Capital CEO, in a controversial move. Bahari was alleged to have breached the company’s sexual harassment standards in 2017. Pahari shuffled executives, with internal job changes including Tim Smith moving into a role as head of international distribution from a similar role, and Simon Ellis is in a newly-created role as head of Americas, with Matt Evans and Ruben Bhagobati co-heads of Europe.
Westpac appoints COO, group executive to leave
Scott Collary is the new chief operations officer at Westpac, leading the newly-created group operating office. Group operations and group technology divisions will now be together as one. Collary is relocating from Bank of Montreal in Canada as chief information and operations officer. Group executive Gary Thursby is leaving the bank in early 2021 after being with the bank for over 10 years, most recently as chief financial officer.

Megan Bond is the new chief operating officer of private wealth, moving from executive manager of business and private bank
Calvin Cordle is the new executive of private south, moving from regional customer executive of Melbourne Central business and private banking
Susie Grehl is the new executive of transformation and strategy, moving from general manager of customer experience and engagement for business and private banking
