ASFA research shows super's role in economy
/A new report out by the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) shows superannuation is supporting millions of Australians and underpins our economy.
Key findings of the report include:
Around $350 billion is invested in unlisted infrastructure assets such as airports, roads, ports, and wind farms
Superannuation savings are invested in affordable housing for key workers such as nurses, police and emergency workers
Other investments include hospitals, medical research and devices such as needle-free vaccines
The report, The role of the superannuation industry in supporting the Australian economy, says ‘anti-super’ groups want to dismantle superannuation, thereby shrinking the economy.
