/HESTA appoints head of portfolio management
Jeff Brunton is the new head of portfolio management at HESTA, moving into the role from chief investment officer at AMP Life. When the group’s life insurance business was split off and sold, Brunton became deputy CIO at Resolution Life, then moved into various roles at AMP Capital.
AustralianSuper loses CEO
Ian Silk is stepping down from the chief executive role at AustralianSuper after over 15 years in the role. Chief risk officer Paul Schroder will take over.
Charter Hall welcomes ESG head
Andrew Cole is joining the team at Charter Hall as environmental, social and governance (ESG) head. Cole moves from Lendlease Funds Management as general manager of sustainability. Cole is also chair of the Property Council of Australia’s National Sustainability Roundtable and chair of Green Building Council of Australia’s advisory group.
Aware appoints director
Angela Nigro is the newest direct to join Aware superannuation’s board. Nigro is the current chief financial officer at the Health Services Union of NSW/ACT/QLD, a state executive board member for the Australian Labor Party of NSW and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Nigro replaces Rosemary Kelly who is stepping down after three terms.
ACSA CEO moving on
Australian Custodial Services Association (ACSA) chief executive Robert Brown is leaving in September 2021 after four years in the role, to pursue other business interests. Chair Sally Surgeon will oversee the transition process.
Vision Super appoints chair
Lisa Darmanin is the first female chair, newly appointed, of industry super fund Vision Super. Darmanin has been a member director of Vision Super since 2018, also serving as deputy chair. Darmanin replaces Geoff Lake who is stepping down after three years.
FEAL appoints new director
Damian Wills is now a director at the Fund Executives Association Ltd (FEAL). Wills is BUSSQ’s chief executive.
SuperConcepts welcomes CEO
Grant Christensen is the new CEO of SuperConcepts, formerly being the former chief information officer at the firm. Christensen has been the interim CEO since the start of 2021, but is now in a permanent position after 15 years with SuperConcepts.
Deutsche Bank appoints CEO
Glenn Morgan is the new CEO of Deutsche Bank Australia, after being in the role in an interim capacity for the past year. Morgan replaces Anthony Miller, who moved on to head Westpac’s institutional bank.
AMP Capital loses energy MD
Stasha Prnjatovic has stepped down as managing director for energy at AMP Capital to take up another opportunity. A replacement has not been announced.
Westpac welcomes new board member
Audette Exel AO has been appointed to the Westpac board as an independent non-executive director from September 2021. Exel will also become a member of the Board Risk Committee and the Board Technology Committee. Exel has over 35 years of experience in the global financial services market and has received many awards for her business leadership and philanthropy, including an honorary Order of Australia for service to humanity. Exel has an impressive resume.
