Vanguard appoints chief information officer

Aman Sahani is the new chief information officer at Vanguard Investments Australia, for the Asia Pacific region. Sahani replaces Kim Peterson who is moving into another role for Vanguard, head of international systems for the US arm of the business. Sahani moves into the role from Thryv (formerly Sensis) as head of technology and core systems.

BTC Markets welcomes COO

Anna Clive has been appointed as chief operating officer at BTC Markets, also joining from Thyrv Australia as head of operations.

Magellan head taking a break

Hamish Douglass has taken medical leave from his role as chief investment officer and chair at Magellan Asset Management. The statement to the ASX said Douglass is taking medical leave of absence after a period of intense pressure and focus on his personal and professional life.

Hamish McLennon, previous deputy chair, will be appointed as independent non-executive chair to replace Douglass. An additional non-executive director is being sought. The global equity retail funds and institutional mandates will be overseen by Chris Mackay, the inaugural chairman and investment chief. Nikki Thomas returns to the company as co-portfolio manager.

Raiz Invest appoints director

Philippa Taylor is the latest addition to the Raiz Invest board of directors, joining as a non-executive director. Taylor sits on the boards of Western Leisure Services and We Make A Difference.

JP Morgan head of Australia funds departs

David Hallifax has left his role at JP Morgan Asset Management as head of Australia funds after nine years. Hallifax is pursuing other opportunities. The roles of head of funds and head of strategic relationships has been combined into the head of wholesale, Australia and New Zealand, with the role filled by Mark Carlile, an internal move.

CFS appoints digital head

Natalie Gheller is the new general manager of digital at Colonial First State Investments. Gheller joins from Telstra, and replaces Neal Devine.

AustralianSuper welcomes retirement solutions lead

Stefan Strano is the new retirement solutions lead at AustralianSuper, the former CEO of Club Plus Super, which has just merged into AustralianSuper.

CareSuper appoints ESG expert

Claire Molinari has been appointed head of ESG at CareSuper, moving into the role from the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) as research manager. Molinari will oversee the Climate Change Action Plan and net-zero commitment of the industry super fund.

FinTech Australia welcomes CEO

Andrew Porter is the new chief at FinTech Australia, the national association for Australian financial tech startups. Porter is an industry veteran.

Equity Trustees appoints responsible investment GM

Dilan Ashton is the new general manager of responsible investing at Equity Trustees, moving into the newly-created role from Warakirri Asset Management as a senior business development associate.

REST welcomes investment head

David Duncan is the new head of transformation, operational risk and governance at Retail Employees Superannuation Trust (REST). Duncan moves into the new role from Price-Waterhouse Cooper as director of financial services consulting.
