/CountPlus loses CEO and MD
A new employment agreement will not be signed by chief executive and managing director of CountPlus Matthew Rowe. Rowe’s contract ends on 24 February 2022. Chief financial officer Laurent Toussaint will be the interim CEO as a new appointment is sought.
The Advisers Association appoints new chair
Bill Beimers is the new chair of The Advisers Association (TAA). Beimers has been on the board as vice chair since 2020, and was on a previous board at the association. Beimers is the founder and MD of SEQ Advice, a financial advisory practice in Queensland.

Panel of FSCP named
The 31-member panel of part-time members of the government’s Financial Services and Credit Panel (FSCP) has been named. The FSCP is set up with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) as the single disciplinary body for financial advisers from 1 January 2022. The pane will consider individual matters.
The members were appointed after industry consultation to ensure a range of industry experience and knowledge, with each panel will consist of an ASIC staff member and at least two other members.
