/Aware Super wins Chant West Best Fund
Aware Super wins Best Fund – Responsible Investment in 2022 Chant West Awards. This is the inaugural award for Best Fund – Responsible Investment at the 2022 Chant West Awards. Aware Super’s long-term commitment to responsible investment practices has seen the fund take out this award.
The award cements Aware Super’s continued commitment to responsible investment, with the fund also recognised by the Principles of Responsible Investment as a leader in 2019 and 2020, and in 2021 by the Responsible Investment Association of Australia as a Responsible Investment Leader. Aware Super is also the only Australian fund invited to join the UN Global Investors for Sustainable Development.
FINSIA welcomes new president
The Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) has announced David Cox as the new president, succeeding Victoria Weekes who is retiring after serving a maximum term. Mr Cox, a PwC partner, brings over two decades' experience to FINSIA, previously being a member of the Consumer Finance Advisory Group and chair of the Institutional Markets Council.
FinTech Australia farewells CEO
FinTech Australia has announced that its CEO, Andrew Porter, has resigned from his role. The organisation has promoted Rehan D'Almeida to the role of general manager. D'Almeida has been with FinTech Australia for five years, originally joining as a marketing intern.
New minister for financial services sworn in
Stephen Jones has been sworn in as Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, with promises made to add the ‘experience pathway’ for financial advisers.
UBS welcomes (back) head of APAC facilitation
Luke Donald has returned to UBS from Macquarie Group to take on the role of head of APAC facilitation.
Fidelity appoints lead portfolio manager
Casey Mclean is the new lead portfolio manager of the Fidelity Australian Operations Fund after Kate Howitt retired after 18 years with Fidelity International. Clare Coleman is now co-portolio manager, joining Fidelity in 2015 as a Hong Kong-based investment analyst.
State Street welcomes MD of portfolio solutions
John Venardos is the new managing director of portfolio solutions at State Street Global Markets. Venardos moves into the role from Russell Investment Management.
