Global ETF FlowWatch Highlights - May 2022
/Worldwide ETFs recorded US$77 billion in net flows during May 2022. Equity ETFs led with US$42 billion in net new money, followed by Bond ETF products gathering US$32 billion. Meanwhile, commodity ETFs trailed behind with US$2 billion in net subscriptions. Global ETF assets rose to US$9.4 trillion as of May 2022.
In the U.S., equity ETFs accumulated US$34 billion in net flows, primarily driven by Equity US - Large Cap garnering US$35 billion in net subscriptions. Bond and commodity ETFs gathered US$34 billion and US$1 billion, respectively.
ETFs in Europe gathered US$320 million in net flows. Equity ETFs took in US$897 million in net subscriptions, followed by bond ETF products receiving US$406 million in net new money. Meanwhile, commodity ETF vehicles suffered with US$983 million in net redemptions. ETFs in Asia accumulated US$4 billion in net new money. Equity ETFs led with US$5 billion in net flows, followed by commodity ETF products gathering US$1 billion. Meanwhile, bond ETFs suffered US$2 billion in net redemptions.
SPDR Bloomberg SASB 0-3 Year Euro Corporate ESG UCITS ETF Fund was the largest new ETF launch in May 2022, attracting US$420 million in net flows.
