First Super welcomes new director

Frank Vari is being replaced by the latest addition to the First Super board, Casey Thompson. Thompson is a compliance officer for the Construction Foresty Maritime Mining and Energy Union manufacturing division. Thompson was first an associate director at the fund, while also serving on the board of directors of the Homeworkers Code Committee (Ethical Clothing Australia) and Evatt Foundation.

JANA appoints CEO

Georgina Dudley is the new chief executive at JANA, as Jim Lamborn steps down. Dudley is an internal promotion to the top job, moving into the role from general manager of strategy and innovation. Dudley has been with JANA for 14 years.

Aware Super director wins Trustee of the Year

Roslyn Ramwell has won the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees’ (AIST) Trustee of the Year Award for 2022. Ramwell has been with the super fund since 2019 and chairs the audit, risk and compliance committee, is an investment committee member, and direct assets committee member.

Schroders appoints head of private wealth

Theone Star is the new head of private wealth at Schroders Australia. Star moves into the role from Centennial Property Group in a similar role.

NGS welcomes two new share managers, farewells CEO

Susan Ding is joining the international shares team as a senior manager at NGS Super, moving into the role from NSW Treasury Corporation. Johnny Lambridis is a new senior manager of Australian shares, moving from M&G Investments and Element Investment Managers. Laura Wright, NGS CEO, is retiring after 35 years in the superannuation industry and 20 years at the fund. A replacement is being sought, with Natalie Previtera as interim CEO.

Mercer appoints NZ investment chief

Padraig Brown is the new chief investment officer at Mercer New Zealand after acting in the role for three months. Brown has also been promoted to partner.

Rest welcomes new director

Michael Bargholz is the newest director on the Pendal board, where he will also join the investments committee board, of which he has been a non-voting member since September 2020.

ASX appoints CFO

Andrew Tobin has been appointed chief financial officer at the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Tobin moves into the role from Challenger.

APRA announces scholarship recipients

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has announced the recipients of the Brian Gray Scholarship for 2022.

• Avish Sharma - University of Sydney

Recipients must work on an agreed research topic and present their findings to APRA and RBA staff.
