Global ETF FlowWatch Highlights - February 2023
/ETF net flows worldwide slowed down significantly to US$14 billion during February 2023, compared to US$64 billion of net deposits in January 2023. Bond ETFs led with US$7 billion in net new money, followed by commodity ETF products gathering US$4 billion in net flows.
Meanwhile, equity ETFs trailed behind with US$3 billion in net subscriptions. Global ETF assets fell to US$9.6 trillion at the end of February 2023.
In the U.S., bond and commodity ETFs each gathered US$1 billion in net new money. Meanwhile, equity ETFs suffered US$5 billion in net redemptions, primarily driven by Equity US – Large Cap experiencing net withdrawals of US$12 billion.
ETFs in Europe gathered US$8 billion in net flows. Equity ETFs garnered US$7 billion in net deposits, followed commodity ETF products receiving US$1 billion in net new money. Meanwhile, bond ETF investments trailed behind with US$430 million in net flows. ETFs in Asia accumulated US$5 billion in net new money. Equity and commodity ETFs followed with US$464 million and US$267 million in net subscriptions, respectively.
WisdomTree Voya Yield Enh USD Univ Bond was the largest new ETF launch in February 2023, attracting nearly US$1.1 billion in net flows.
