FPA appoints professional practice manager
The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has appointed Ken Whitton to the newly-created role of professional practice manager. Whitton moves across from the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), where he was a senior policy adviser.

Departures

CFSGAM CEO resigns
Mark Lazberger has resigned from Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CBSGAM) after 10 years at the helm. Mark Steinberg will act in the role until a replacement can be found.

NAB head of advice leaving firm
NAB’s head of financial advice, Andrew Hagger, is departing after a decade due to a restructure of the senior executive team. Hagger’s role will be filled by Mike Baird, chief customer officer of corporate and institutional banking, with the new role the chief customer officer of consumer banking, with oversight of financial advice and wealth management reassigned to MLC chief executive Geoff Lloyd prior to its separation from NAB.

AFA Female Excellence in Advice Award, Rising Star
Donna Lee Powell has been awarded the AFA/TAL Female Excellence in Advice award for her work with women facing life-changing events. Powell will receive a $15,000 education package. Rebecca Pritchard has won the Rising Star of the Year award.
