AMP replaces CEO
Francesco De Ferrari has commenced his new role as the chief executive of AMP Limited, replacing Mike Wilkins. Wilkins has been serving as interim CEO since April, and will now return to his usual role as independent non-executive director of the board.

Zurich mixes up leadership team
Zurich Australia has shuffled its top team:

  • Giles Crowley moving from head of commercial insurance role to newly-created role as chief distribution and deal management officer

  • Sean Walker, chief underwriting officer, will now add oversight of the commercial insurance portfolio to his tasks

  • Hilary Bates, chief claims officer, extends her role to take on the head of operations role

  • Wilson Varghese is to move from head of operations to another role that has yet to be announced

  • Steve Ord, chief distribution officer, is leaving the company

MetLife expands retail team
MetLife Australia has made four new appointments in its retail business:

  • Marcus Chan - NSW sales manager (from BT Financial Group)

  • Aaron Nugent - QLD sales manager (from BT Financial Group)

  • Stephen Nyabadza - VIC/TAS sales manager (from Cbus, MLC)

  • Patrick Murphy - WA/SA sales manager (from AMP)

New Markets Disciplinary Panel members
Four new members have been added to the Markets Disciplinary Panel (MDP):

  • Mr Dan Ritchie (Macquarie Securities)

  • Ms Lisa Shand (Morgans)

  • Mr John Manchee (Credit Suisse)

  • Mr Ian Jones (Goldman Sachs)

The Association of Financial Advisers in association with the Beddoes Institute has held the annual life insurance Consumer Choice Awards for 2018, announcing OnePath as the overall winner, and ClearView the runner up.

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has announced the winners of its annual awards:

  • Wotherspoon Wealth, Adelaide - FPA Professional Practice of the Year
