/MLC Life to restructure, new roles created, filled and departed
With change afoot at MLC Life, the group and retail life insurance divisions are being combined into one life insurance division. Sean McCormack is to lead the new division as chief life insurance officer. New roles have been created in the process, with Sean Williamson as chief group insurance officer, and six general manager appointments.
Fiona Guscott, former head of policy administration systems, is the new general manager of underwriting and operations. Angela McLaughlin, former executive lead of ethics and emerging risk, is now the general manager of product, pricing and proposition (retail). Craig Harrison is in the same role, but in group insurance.
Russell Hannah is the new general manager of retail distribution partnerships, and the former general manager of sales bancassurance, digital and direct, Michael Oliver, is overseeing new strategic partnerships. Tim Roso, former general manager of digital, innovation and ventures, is the new general manager of partner and customer channel experience.
MLC Wealth’s CEO, Julia Pryor, has stepped down, with Peter Sutherland acting in the role.
AMP confirms redundancies on the cards
AMP is making some changes to its business and culture, with centralisation of business services on the cards, with redundancies to be made. The specific business units or employee numbers have not been revealed, but AMP Australia and AMP Capital are included. AMP announced recently it would be open to unsolicited interest in selling businesses and assets, with cultural issues highlighted with recent controversies involving the brief chief executive appointment of Boe Pahari.
