/WEF survey: 9 in 10 people want a more sustainable and equitable world post-COVID
A new World Economic Forum-Ipsos global survey has found that 86 per cent of the 21,000 surveyed adults want the world to change significantly and become more sustainable and equitable. Over 70 per cent want their personal lives to also change significantly, rather than returning to the old-normal pre-COVID-19.
The United States, the Netherlands, Germany and South Korea are typically very change-averse countries, but a clear majority of those countries was in favour of change at 79 per cent.
The researchers said the pandemic has broken down cultural barriers, creating momentum for systemic change for a more sustainable and equitable world.
