Aberdeen appoints new Asia-Pacific CEO
Rene Buehlmann is the new chief executive of Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) Asia-Pacific region. Buehimann takes over from Hugh Young, who is moving into the chair of Asia role. Buehlmann has spent almost 30 years working with UBS, most recently as head of asset management Asia Pacific and global head of wholesale client coverage.
State Super appoints CIO
Charles Wu is the new chief investment officer at State Super, replacing Gary Gabriel in an internal promotion. Gabriel has left for a role at VFMC. Wu was the deputy chief investment officer and general manager of defined contribution investments.
Janus Henderson appoints director of institutional solutions
Greg Clarke is the very first director of institutional solutions at Janus Henderson, moving into the role from TAL.

Chi-X founder passes away
Peter Fowler, Chi-X Australia’s founder and first chief executive, has died. Chi-X said Fowler will be remembered with affection, respect and gratitude by those who worked with him as a founding employee, chief operating officer, chief executive and board director of Chi-X Australia.
Chi-X welcomes deputy chief operating officer
John Williams, moving from the National Stock Exchange of Australia, is the new deputy chief operating officer at Chi-X Australia.
Netwealth founding chair resigns, new director appointed
Jane Tongs is leaving Netwealth after over 20 years in the role. Tim Antonie will replace her. Antonie is the current chair of the audit committee and a member of the investment, compliance and risk management, remuneration culture and nomination committees.
Kate Temby is a new independent non-executive director, with almost two decades of experience at Goldman Sachs behind her and a current role as partner at Affirmative Investment Management.
WTW farewells Jeffrey after 40 years, welcomes new head of retirement
Louise Campbell is the new head of retirement at Willis Towers Watson (WTW), replacing Brad Jeffrey, who is retiring after four decades at the company. Campbell has over 30 years of experience behind her, most recently at Russell Investments.
Future Super CEO resigns
Kristin Hunter is leaving Future Super as co-founder and chief executive after four years with the company. Simon Sheikh was co-CEO with Hunter, but he will now take over the role alone.
