Jessie Pettigrew has been appointed as head of responsible investments, moving into the role from BT Financial Group’s head of ESG and sustainability.
Alister Wong is a new senior portfolio manager of defensive assets and alternatives, moving from the Australia Post Superannuation Scheme as head of investments.
Manish Utreja has been appointed senior portfolio manager of real assets, joining from Insignia Financial.
Darren Rosario has been promoted to deputy chief investment officer.
Libby Sparshatt has been promoted to head of asset management.
Stephen Austen has been promoted to head of investment operations.
Allianz Retire+ welcomes three new senior appointments
Andrew Stewart is the new head of distribution at Allianz Retire+, moving into the role from Ausiex as head of adviser services. Malcolm Weir is the new head of life protection, moving from Noble Oak. Jasmine Jirele is a new director on the board, and is the president and chief executive of Allianc Life Insurance Company of North America.
Cbus appoints senior portfolio manager
Myooran Mahalingam is the new senior portfolio manager at Cbus for the global equities portfolio construction. Mahalingam moves into the role from MLC, where he spent 20 years, most recently as portfolio manager for global equities and listed property strategies.
Anna Weickart will move into the newly-created role of manager of the equities manager research program, while also continuing her role as portfolio manager of the climate change portfolio.
Jonathon Meagher is a new senior analyst on the infrastructure team, moving into the role from Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation. Adrian Dark is now the associate director of the property team, moving into the role from Citi Research in the Australian listed property sector portfolio.
Global X ETFs welcomes Australian CEO
Evan Metcalf is the new chief executive of Australia for Global X ETFs, an internal promotion. Metcalf has been head of product since 2015. Global X ETFs rebranded from ETF Securities after it was acquired by Mirae Asset Financial Group and Global X in June.
Australian Ethical farewells CIO
David Marci is leaving Australian Ethical Investment as chief investment officer at the end of 2022 after 11 years in the job. Marci is moving on to new challenges, as a global hunt is now underway for his replacement.
Raiz loses MD and joint group CEO
The managing director and joint group CEO of Raiz Invest, George Lucas, is departing the firm as of December 31 to pursue other opportunities. Lucas will be succeeded by Brendan Malone, the current joint group chief of Australia.
BlackRock welcomes new heads
Tomoko Ueda has been appointed as head of corporate strategy and development at BlackRock for the APAC region, moving into the role from Nikko Asset Management. Aarti Angara is the new head of product for the Asia Pacific region, also moving into the role from Nikko.
Schroders loses head of sales
Kerrie Howard is leaving Schroder Investment Management as head of institutional sales to retire after more than a decade at the firm. Ray Macken has taken on the role.
AustralianSuper promotes senior director of risk
Mathew Dive is the new senior director of investment risk at AustralianSuper, moving into the role from the total portfolio management team. Dive has been with the company since 2013.
Mercer welcomes new principal
Richard Dunn has joined Mercer Australia’s investment team as principal, moving into the role from Deloitte, where he was a senior manager for 18 months.
State Street appoints president and CEO of SSGA
Yie-Hsin Hung is the new president and chief executive of State Street Global Advisers (SSGA), also sitting on the executive committee. Hung replaces Cyrus Taraporevala who is retiring. Hung moves into the role from New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM).
Magellan renews director
Karen Phin is leaving the Magellan board as an independent non-executive director and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, and the Remuneration and Nominations Committee after eight years at the company. A new member is being sought as part of regular board renewal.
