Global ETF FlowWatch - Highlights July 2022
/Worldwide ETFs recorded US$34 billion in net flows during July 2022. Bond ETFs led with US$30 billion in net new money, followed by equity ETF products gathering US$13 billion. Meanwhile, commodity ETFs suffered nearly US$10 billion in net redemptions. Global ETF assets rose to US$9.3 trillion as of July 2022.
In the U.S., bond ETFs accumulated $26 billion in net flows, primarily driven by Bond North America garnering US$20 billion in net subscriptions. Equity ETFs received US$12 billion in net new money. Commodity ETFs, however, experienced net redemptions of US$2 billion
ETFs in Europe suffered significantly, experiencing US$4 billion in net redemptions. Bond ETFs took in US$4 million in net subscriptions. Meanwhile, commodity and equity ETF vehicles lost a total of nearly US$8 billion in net redemptions. ETFs in Asia saw US$600 million in net outflows. Equity ETFs led with US$3 billion in net new cash, followed by commodity and bond ETF products suffering net redemptions totalling over US$3 billion.
Hwabao WP CSI 100 Index ETF was the largest new ETF launch in July 2022, attracting US$107 million in net new cash.
