/First Sentier welcomes deputy CEO
Yoshiki Ueno is the new deputy chief executive at First Sentier Investors, to be based in Sydney. Ueno is the head of United States governance for the company. Ueno replaces Yutaka Kawakami who is returning to Japan to take up a new role at the Trust Bank.
Cbus appoints chief member officer, deputy chair
Marianne Walker is the chief member officer at Cbus, with the role renamed from group executive of member and employer experience. The change was made by the CEO Justin Arter to reflect the key focus of members and industry-standard titles.
Denita Wawn is now the deputy chair on the Cbus board of directors after being on the board since 2017. Wawn is the Master Builders Australia CEO, replacing Dave Noonan who stepped down earlier this year.
CareSuper appoints investment strategy head
Cindy Ponder-Budd is the head of investment strategy at CareSuper, a newly-created role. Ponder-Budd has over two decades’ experience in the financial services industry, with several senior roles across the globe, and most recently at HESTA as a market strategist.
Australian Unity appoints ESG lead
Parag Shinde has been appointed as the national manager for ESG at Australian Unity. Shinde is a sustainability and climate change specialist joining from Property NSW.
Pendal appoints portfolio manager, farewells industry veteran
Brenton Saunders a new portfolio manager at Pendal Group, replacing Andrew Waddington, who is retiring. Waddington is an industry veteran with 35 years in financial services behind him, and 24 of those with Pendal, BT and Rothschild. Saunders currently co-manages the midcap fund with Waddington.
Schroders restructure, promotions
Simon Doyle has been promoted to chief investment officer at Schroders, with several new appointments after an investment team restructure. Doyle will continue to run the multi-asset portfolio. Natalie Morcos has been promoted to head of product and solutions, from head of product. Kellie Wood is now deputy head of fixed income, Australia, and Sebastian Mullins is the new deputy head of multi-asset, Australia.
