UBS appoints non-executive chair

Lindsay Maxsted has been appointed as the new non-executive chair of UBS Australasia. Maxsted has held high-level positions at Westpac, Transurban Group, BHP and KPMG.

ART makes leadership changes

Australian Retirement Trust (ART) has made changes to senior leadership and the board.

  • Creation of chief of retirement role

  • Teifi Whatley, chief strategy officer, to retire after over 20 years at the fund

  • Stevhan Davidson is replacing Whatley, moving into the role from chief of transformation

  • Karin Muller, chief member officer, is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities, with recruitment currently underway for this position

  • Dave Woodall moves from chief growth officer to chief commercial officer

  • Mark Burgess is joining as a director and member of the investment committee in mid-2023, after leaving HESTA’s board and committee

  • Linda Apelt, former investment commissioner for Queensland and current chair of Opera Queensland and member of Griffith University Council, has been appointed as director

  • Guy Debelle, former deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, has been appointed as an external adviser on the investment committee

ASX welcomes group executive

Darren Yip is the new group executive of markets at the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Yip moves into the role from a 12-year stint at Morgan Stanley.
