CountPlus reappointments CEO and MD

Matthew Rowe has been reappointed as the chief executive and managing director of CountPlus Limited. Rowe’s current contract expired in February 2022.

MLC Life welcomes two distribution team members

Lee Cheesman is the new head of retail distribution governance and key accounts, while Justine Marquet is the new senior manager of retail distribution strategy, enablement and capacity. Cheesman moves into the role from MLC Wealth, where he spent the previous 20 years in advice and leadership roles. Marquet moves into the role from within MLC Life Insurance, as head of product technical services and regulatory change.

AFA appoints new president, loses treasurer

Vice president Sam Perera is the new Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) president after Michael Nowak resigned after nine years, three as president. Michelle Veitch will move into the VP role. Treasurer Matthew Hawkins has also announced he is resigning after seven years, a year as treasurer, to be replaced by Samantha Robinson.

FPA announces 2021 Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award

Susan Buda of Brady & Associates Financial Advisers is the second 2021 winner of the Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award. The award recognises the highest performing student in the CFP Certification Unit for each semester.
